JOB VACANCIES Mercy Corps is seeking candidates for the following position: Community Outreach Officer The Community Outreach Officer will be responsible for the implementation of Conflict management between Syrian refugees and host communities in Jordan in Irbid and Mafraq governorates. S/he will serve as a primary contact person for the project participants and will coordinate their participation in the project, including training modules, follow up, mentoring and community projects identification and implementation. Community Outreach Officer will be responsible for liaising with the local communities and local CBOs during the project. S/he will also be responsible for monitoring the achievement of the results set by the project in his/her area of responsibility. Community Outreach Officer will also be tasked with data collection, conducting surveys, submitting progress reports and making logistics arrangements in cooperation with other Mercy Corps staff. Frequent travel within Irbid and Mafraq and to and from Amman will be required. The ideal candidate should have a Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Conflict Management or other related field; At least 2 years of experience in development or humanitarian assistance programs; Experience in the field of conflict management, communications, community mobilization, and/or project management is desirable; Familiarity with data collection and monitoring and evaluation tools is desirable; Strong interest in conflict mitigation, international development, and cross-cultural communication, Strong multi-tasking, organizational, prioritization skills are necessary, Proficiency in written and spoken English and Arabic; Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications including Excel and Word; Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel to Irbid/Mafraq/Amman.
