JOE MANCUSO is a special education teacher and a nominee for the 2014 ACE Awards. Joe is a compassionate educator who consistently establishes positive, supportive relationships with Roosevelt Middle School students, their families, and staff. He works diligently to provide his students with high quality social skills instruction and academic support that facilitates their success. One of Joe’s biggest strengths is his ability to develop meaningful relationships with students and their families. He recognizes and understands that effectively supporting the students in his program requires the school and the parents to work together in support of the student. He also understands that this type of working relationship requires open communication and trust. Joe finds creative ways to reach out to students and families to establish positive and collaborative relationships. The end result: Better support and a better learning experience for Joes students.
