JSSA and McLean School Offers BFF Social Skills Camp JSSA AND THE MCLEAN SCHOOL OF MARYLAND OFFERS SUMMER EDGE BFF SOCIAL SKILLS SUMMER CAMP JSSA (The Jewish Social Service Agency) and the McLean School of Maryland have joined together to offer Building and Fostering Friendships (BFF), a three session social skills summer camp for children entering grades 1 through 6 that begins June 17 and runs through August 9, 2013. Sessions will be held at the McLean School of Maryland in Potomac and are geared toward a particular age group with half or full-day options. Some social skills topics covered include friendly behaviors, the initiation of friendships, listening, taking turns and sharing, making conversation, working as a team, anger management, handling teasing, relaxation/stress management and more. This camp program is appropriate for children who can benefit from learning and practicing social skills but who can also participate successfully in less-structured activities. Typically developing children with social skills deficits, children with social challenges related to anxiety disorders, children with ADHD and highfunctioning Asperger.s may be appropriate. All potential campers will be interviewed to assure that the BFF Camp is appropriate for their needs.
