JTS SPORTS NEWS Alabama and USC will kick off the 2016 season at Dallas Cowboys Stadium in Arlington TX. The two traditional football powers have not met since the 1985 Aloha Bowl, with Alabama winning 24 to 3. Their last regular season meeting was in 1978. It will be the second year in a row that Alabama will open its season in Dallas. The Tide will kick off the 2015 season there, as well, against Wisconsin. Golfs third major tournament of the year, the British Open, is underway, with first round action today, at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club in Merseyside, England. ESPNS fan-voted ESPY Sports Awards were handed out last night in Los Angeles. The Seattle Seahawks took home the Best Team Trophy. Kevin Durant won Best Male Athlete, MMA fighter Ronda Rousey was voted Best Female Athlete, and Auburns Chris Davis won Best Play Award for his 109 yard return of the missed field goal on the final play of last years Iron Bowl.
