JULY 22, 2013 – Today’s scheduled blasting to prepare for the new tunnel on the east end of Louisville has been cancelled due to weather. The schedule for the remainder of the week is not affected at this point. The dates and approximate times for blasting near the intersection of U.S. 42 and KY 841 this week will be: - Tuesday, July 23 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Wednesday, July 24 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Thursday, July 25 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. - Friday, July 26 at about 2:27 p.m. and 2:30 p.m. On each day, prior to the blasts, traffic must be stopped for five to twenty minutes for the safety of the workers and the travelling public. Traffic stops during the blasts will occur on KY 841 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and U.S. 42, and on U.S. 42 between Wolf Pen Branch Road and Bridgepointe Boulevard. If unfavorable weather conditions at the time of a scheduled blast are expected, the blast time may be moved to earlier that day – likely to about noon.
