JUNIOR CHAMBER INTERNATIONAL (JCI) BUILDS DAY CARE CENTRE IN G-WEST With the mission to provide development opportunities that empower young people to create positive changes, Junior Chamber International (JCI) Botswana in partnership with ZAC Construction is building a Morula Day Care Centre at Morula ward in Gaborone West Phase 1. Speaking at the ground breaking ceremony on Tuesday, March 18, the executive director of JCI Botswana, Miss Ngwatshi Enyatseng said the centres, which will accommodate 100 pupils, would have three classes and a playground. “The centre will admit orphans and less privileged children,” she said. In his remarks, JCI president, Mr Tumelo Masalila said the project was a milestone for them and they wanted to unite people of Gaborone West and also wanted to assist with the issue of unemployment as the centre was going to employ some residents of that area. Meanwhile, Mr Thanabalasingam Raveendran of ZAC construction said the project would be completed within six months. He said he would like to finish it as quickly as possible, and added that he would hire local contractors to execute the project. JCI is a membership-based, non-profit organization of 200 000 young people of ages 18 to 40 in 5000 communities and more than 100 member countries around the world. BOPA
