Jack Wilshere : I’d love to see Suarez at Arsenal SE | August 5, 2013 | 0 Comments diggEmail Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere has claimed that he would “love” to see Luis Suarez at the club and says he trusts Arsene Wenger to bring new players to the club . Arsenal have made it clear in the past few weeks that they are keen to sign the 26-year-old Liverpool striker. Arsenal has had two bids for the Liverpool forward rejected including an offer of £40million plus £1 that Arsenal believed would trigger a buy-out clause in Suarez’s contract. The Gunners midfielder, who missed the back end of last season due to a niggling injury says it will be disrespectful to talk about players who are playing for other teams. According to Daily Mail, he said : He’s a great player, I’d love to see him here. But you never know. He’s a top player and he showed that last season. He brings something different to the team and scores goals. I can’t talk about other players. He’s still playing for another team so it’s disrespectful. We’ll see what happens in the next few weeks. When asked whether new signings would give the current squad more confidence ahead of the new campaign, he added : I think it will. New signings and big players always bring confidence. The players get excited when they hear the names being splashed about. We’ll see what the manager does. We trust him and the club. I’m sure there will be some players coming in. It was great for Arsenal fans to see Jack Wilshere back playing in the first team again this season. Jack has put in some great performances for the Gunners this season, but he knows he was not been at his brilliant best. Wilshere made his comeback this season from 15 months out of action with an ankle injury, only for history to repeat itself at the end of the campaign .The problem this season was that, when Wilshere was coming back, Arsenal were already struggling and under pressure from media and the fans. Wilshere is right that new signings will bring in renowned confidence to the squad which we have been lacking for the past few seasons and couple of quality signings like Suarez would definitely be a confidence booster. Arsenal’s focus on Suarez should not derail their other transfer plans. Arsenal should remember that this summer is about more than luring one marquee player. It’s about transforming the Arsenal squad in to genuine title contenders. Thus far, Arsenal have only signed France youth international striker Yaya Sanogo. The Gunners have also allowed a whole host of squad players to depart, meaning they lack strength in depth like never before. Arsenal need numbers, and they need quality. Time is running out.
