Jalukbari Rigging Incident Rocks Assam Hardly two days after the final phase of the Lok Sabha elections ended in Assam, an incident of open rigging in Bornijhora LP School Polling Station in Jalukbari LAC, the constituency of State Health and Education Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma, has come to light which has created ripples across the entire State. Upon getting information of the rigging incident, the State Election Department today filed a case in Baihata Police Station and arrested all the staff of the said polling station for the allegation of casting of votes under influence. The Election Commmission of India has meanwhile ordered fresh polls to be carried out in Bornijhora polling centre on April 28 next.
