James Houston Taylor, the loving and devoted husband of Norma Kee Mobley Taylor, father to Angela Pandora Barnett, and grandfather to Stephanie Taylor Bond and her husband, Devin Benton passed on to the big cruise ship in the sky on Saturday, November 15, 2014. James, born in Mississippi County, Arkansas in 1940 was a hair dresser, fisherman, dog breeder and darn good cook. He was passionate about his 27 vacation cruises, good food and wine and of course, his family. Spending the last 50+ years in Jonesboro, Walnut Ridge and Black Rock, he was known about town for his great sense of humor and his genuine friendliness to all - he truly never met a stranger. James is also survived by his mother-in-law of nearly 60 years Adelaide Mobley Maddox, his sister-in-law, Martha Mobley Morgan and his brother, Max L Taylor. The family would like to thank the medical team at Clopton Clinic, St. Bernards Hospital and the incredible staff at Flo and Phil Jones Hospice House. The family requests in lieu of flowers, friends and family consider a donation to the Hospice House. A celebration of James will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 beginning at 3:00 pm with a concluding toast to his life at 5:00 pm at The Venue, 117 W. Main St., Walnut Ridge AR. Friends are welcome to join the family in our Bon Voyage. We love you James, dad.
