Jane has asked: Im desperately seeking some advice and / or hear about similar experiences. My 13mo has been comfort sucking for hours throughout the night for some time now. I have been letting him do this however as Ive recently found out Im pregnant we thought it was time to break the habit so to speak, not to mention it has been leaving me severely sleep deprived. Our approach has been for his father to take him and try to settle him back to sleep, often giving him a warm bottle of milk. At first I stayed in the room but the past few nights Ive slept in the spare room so he doesnt see / smell me. It really hasnt been working at all - he cries hysterically, trying to kick and push away my husband for up to 2 hours, numerous times a night. Its heartbreaking and Im really at a loss of what to do. Any advice? Are there any recommendations for professionals who might be able to help?
