I fell in love with that magnificent aircraft at Sewart AFB, Tenn,. in 1965. I was a Material Control Officer (supply toad, 6424, held captive by maintenance folks), and six months on station I was taking my first long ride in the Herk Bird...all the way to Vietnam for Operation One Buck. Have been in a few career fields in the 41.5 years since then, winding up as an ICBM Communications PM; but the C-130E years were/are still the best.
