Jang described as pillar of peace, unity By YAKUBU NANZHUA GOVERNOR Jonah David Jang of Plateau State has been described as peace loving man who is committed to the unity of the people. The state Government Chaplain, Pastor Chidiebere told SUNDAY STANDARD about the benefits of the just concluded Solemn Assembly. He said, the aim of organizing the programme is to pray and seek God’s face on issues of the state. To this end, indigenous ministers from five arms of CAN who were drawn from different denominations who prayed on behalf of the land. In fulfillment of the Redemption Agenda, Chideibere said, God sent Governor Jang as a servant leader on assignment to unite the entire people of the state irrespective of backgrounds in order to consolidate on building bridges across various communities in the state and towards restoration of permanent peace, healing wounds of those affected during crises and to prepare our people spiritually, geared towards facing the daunting challenges that have bedeviled the state and the entire country. He further described Governor Jang as a unique character, a man of God who sees government as his ministry. “He came like other leaders, joined politics but unlike other politicians, his purpose was not to amass wealth for himself. He came in as servant of God who is passionate about the development of the land and the church right from the onset. He said despite the challenge of crises and meager resources, he was able to deliver. Furthermore, Chidiebere stated that as a spiritual father, his prayer is that God should give him more wisdom and strength to finish the remaining programme ahead of him. Reflecting on the programme, Pastor Chidiebere said that this was the third edition of the Solemn Assembly which yielded enormous blessings of God to the state, because prayer is a two way traffic, when you speak to God, God will also speak back to you, saying spiritual thing is not what you can see with your physical eye but our lives are being controlled in the spiritual realm and manifest physically through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ. While elaborating on the significance of prayer as planting of seed that sometimes instantly yields bountiful harvest others take one to three months or even a year before harvest adding that people are living testimonies of what happened during the solemn assembly. People received their salvation; spiritual lives were revived and became more committed to God. He added that unity is not a super market affair that one can go and buy in one day but is a process and the process had already started in the Solemn Assembly and already series of meetings are ongoing to unite us and fight against the division of the body of Christ. Pastor Chidiebere lamented that despite the prayers being offered in many worship places in the state but still, killings have persisted. The man of God however assured that the country still has hope, and the devil is not almighty or alpha and omega, rather the devil is a traitor and his trouble will not continue forever.
