January 20--Astrological Commentaries from Bali. We are taught that Uranus is the higher octave of Mercury. Lets examine this statement further. Uranus is representative of the Buddhic plane of consciousness (located in the Body of the Soul) which is another term for true intuition. When Uranus is awakened in a person it acts as an individualizing agent. It thus allows that person the ability to see into the quality of Life contained within a form. This type of vision, this type of energetic perception bring the person to the door of the Self. This is the door we prepare to enter after we have booted ourself out of the lunar door of instinct and egocentricity. Mercury represents the activities of the rational mind (located in the body of the personality). It gives language and the urge to communicate intelligently. When Uranus and Mercury are aligned, there is a natural flow between intuitive perception and intellectual recognition of what is being perceived. That is when you know what you know and the power of that knowledge may then be converted into wisdom. The Soul is neither a theological speculation nor a philosophical reference point. Those individuals who demand intellectual proof of the existence of the Soul are obviously not in touch with their own Higher Self. They can never be as long as the intellect is used as the primary lens through which life is experienced and observed.
