January 20th fishing report: Tons of whales reported out on the waters today... by the whale watching boats, as well as the fishermen. Had a few boats out fishing today, but all they got was a pretty show from the whales. The bait is still hanging around outside the inlet, and the birds continue working...but the fish are still NOT cooperating. The weather will be VERY cold over the next few days... so we are still hopeful that this could bring in some of those offshore schools of rocks. However, if it doesnt we will continue crossing our fingers, and hoping for the best... because fishing is just that... fishing! Sometimes it is awesome, and sometimes it stinks... but you dont stop doing something you love just because you arent guaranteed a slam catch every single time. Besides, slow fishing brings out even the most talented anglers.... seeing who HAS THE BEST TECHNIQUE, AND TALENT, to get those fish to bite. Catching a boat load of fish... is always awesome!! (And believe me...we wish we had that problem right now), but fish is still an awesome sport, whether you are fishing.... or catching! :) 757-491-8000 800-725-0509
