Jax update: My little guy is going home now. Had to be rushed to the ER for another bleed. He received a large unit of platelets and is now okay to go home! A little more about his bleeding issues....each and every time he has a bleeding episode he does need to be rushed to the ER for a transfusion(s). The reason is because his bone marrow does not produce platelets which aide in clotting of the blood, therefore Jax could bleed out. A platelet transfusion gives his body temporary clotting factors. The only way to fix this bleeding issue is a bone marrow transplant, in Jaxs case he will need a 2nd bone marrow transplant as he already underwent transplant number 1 in July of 2012. Our family has been helping us non stop in trying to raise funds to get Jax out to Cincinnatti Childrens Hospital for further treatment for both his EB and his bone marrow issue. A trust fund has been set up for all uncovered medical expenses including getting Jax put to Cincinnatti.
