JazakAllah Fatima for the nomination for this Quran challenge. Its a great idea to share a small part of this book and its beauty. I nomination Malinda Sargent, Ebs Sorayya, Sareh Sal, Loralie Schultz, Mouna Aboucham, Huda Hadi, Leona Le Chat, Angela OBrien, Shara Hemdan, Ilham Tahir, Dalya Ayoub and Enas Alrayyan. I think I may have over did it, but its cool. If youve done it before tag me I must have missed it. To be honest, I find I have many upon many verses that really break that barrier I seem to build, for reasons I chose not to admit or understand :D. This was really difficult, as everything in this book is full of wisdom. Ive chosen a few verses which I believe complement each other and my reason for choosing them is because I feel without them we can lose a lot of our selves, our peace of mind, our focus, and our understanding. But [as for myself,] patience in adversity is most goodly [in the sight of God]; and it is to God [alone] that I pray to give me strength to bear the misfortune which you have described to me.” [12:18] Amr bin Qays said “Beautiful Patience means to be content with adversity and to surrender to the will of Allah.” All praises and thanks belong to Allah [1:1] Which is it, of the favours of your Lord that ye deny? [55:12] Allah is the Light of the heavens and the earth. The example of His light is like a niche within which is a lamp, the lamp is within glass, the glass as if it were a pearly [white] star lit from [the oil of] a blessed olive tree, neither of the east nor of the west, whose oil would almost glow even if untouched by fire. Light upon light. Allah guides to His light whom He wills. And Allah presents examples for the people, and Allah is Knowing of all things. [24:35] If we ponder on all the favours given to us (especially those we did not ask for but still got), and have patience for the adverse times in our lives, we will truly understand how to praise and give thanks to our Creator and Protector, understand our purpose, we will surely by the leave of Allah experience Light upon Light.
