Jeeay Bhutto The World Bank has observed a 0.5 per cent decline on average in per capita income in rural Sindh every year since 1999. The report also says that 50 per cent of the population of rural areas lives below the poverty line, and suffers from low per capita incomes and calorie intake, as well as unemployment and inadequate access to education, sanitation and health facilities, an unhygienic environment, and insecure access to natural resources.
