Jeff, shoe fitter extraordinaire recommends that if you are a beginner runner and running 3 days a week or more, you should replace your shoes no less than twice a year. If you are running more often than 3x/week, then you should replaces your kicks more often. For those of you who like statistics, keeping a training log will help you calculate the traditional mileage recommendations, but for the majority of moderate runners every 4 to 6 months will work for replacement. Another option that we practice, is to buy 2 pairs of shoes at the same time and then rotate them between runs. We let each shoe rest for 24 hours, before its next run when we can. But then again, we are running nuts~
