Jerry Patterson posted: "On Friday, I announced that the Texas Veterans Land Board (VLB) will give full benefits to the families and surviving spouses of those killed by Maj. Nidal Hasan. In my mind, these brave soldiers died in combat at the hands of a terrorist attacker. In contrast, the Obama Administration has designated the shootings as an act of "workplace violence", which denies Purple Hearts and medical benefits to the victims and the survivors. Texas will honor their sacrifice and we will take action where the federal government will not."
