Jesse sent us the following about his presentation: Adventures in Interactive audio - Covering highlights how EA sound designers went about sound recording and integration for some of our titles such as Need for Speed, SSX, Tiger Woods and Madden. This will also show some of the tools we use to create designs. (lots of show and tell here) Methodology vs Technology - Coming from such a technical industry I am often asked what is the best tool to make sound interactive; The real answer to that is that technology moves too fast in this industry to assume any tool is optimal. This part of the talk focuses on the methodology of interactive audio, to clarify essential concepts in your design before turning to tools for integration. The Job of a Sound Designer - What exactly goes on in the audio department at a major game studio? In this part of the talk I will illustrate an 11 year spread (2006-2017) of what the role of an in house audio designer was to what it will likely be in the years ahead based on experience.
