Jesus is Creator ( Colossians 1:13 - 23 ) As God, Christ is the Creator. He is not a creature , but always there from the beginning (John 1:1 ) . It is called firstborn because in him were created all things ( 1:16) . The point is that Christ is superior to any creature, whether man , animal , or celestial being . Christ is the reason of the creation - All things were made through him and for him ( 1:16) . Without Christ , nothing could survive ( 1:17 , Hebrews 1:3 ) . All things were created in him and in his direction . We are in fact aware of this ? When we contemplate the universe at night and see an ocean of stars above us , is through him and for him this was created , even that little flower in the corner that nobody note between the stones and nobody gives value was also through him and for it is that it was created and that it flourishes . All things were created through him and for him both in heaven and on earth , visible and invisible , all things were created by him . So nothing in this universe can be greater than he, nothing can be loved more than him. In fact he should be worshiped . For he is the Lord of all creation . It is the support of all creation His creative authority covers all the material and spiritual universe ( 1.16) . As this includes angels and planets ( 1:16, 2:10) , Christ deserves to be praised instead of angels ( 2:18) . Moreover , there is no reason to fear demonic spiritual powers superstitiously or seek their protection , for Christ has undermined their power on the cross ( 2.15) and shared his triumphant resurrection power ( 2.20) . As sovereign and Christ is not enough just the Creator of the universe , but also preserves ( 1.17) , is its principle of unity and goal ( 1.16) . There is unity and purpose. The universe is not a chaos but a cosmos. Orderly universe , a system , there is harmony , even thinking of tornado, drought, floods , global warming . There is consistency everywhere. This is also true in history , the happenings . Here things are not as they also seem to be. Even the newspapers are full of violence , that the living world at war , though there corruption in the executive , judicial , legislative , ecclesiastical powers . But it is certain that one day in the future , everything will be harmonized as Isaiah 11:6-9 , Revelation 15 says 1-4 . If we hear that captured the joy when Paul goes on to say that Christ is the head of the body , the church .
