Jiri bodies demand annulment of selection process JIRIBAM, Dec 4: Citing that many non-resident candidates have been selected in the recently held interview for selection of employees under Integrated Watershed Management Programme under the Planning dept, various leaders of Jiribam based civil society organisations have demanded nullification of the selection process. Speaking to reporters today at AMSU office here, leaders of AMSU, JDO, AJUCA, MSF and DESAM pointed out that Oinam Rojesh Singh S/o Oinam Menjor placed in serial no 1 of the selected list has dual votes one each in polling station No 11/13 of Sagolband Kendra (Sl No 572, H No 86) and Polling Station No 40/2 under Jiribam (Kalinagar Ward No 2, H No 154 Sl No 639). As such, the civil society organisations leaders have strong apprehension that the Election dept of Jiribam has been arbitrarily including the name of outsiders in the electoral lists. Councillor of the concerned area who was also present during the press meet admitted that the candidate was not known to him. The BLO concerned who was also present at the occasion said that there is no need for existence of BLOs in Jiribam as they succumbed to pressure from higher authorities. Therefore, the civil society leaders have demanded annulment of the selection of employees under Integrated Watershed Management Programme under the Planning dept in respect of Jiribam.
