Jiu jitsu is for everyone. Some things are worth the sacrifice. If you are content to call it quits because you dont believe you can physically train, than maybe a new approach to physical preparation is in order so that you can physically keep up with the rigors of a consistent training regimen. Try going light when you roll. Focus on mobility drills, and joint prehab. Clean up your diet. Sometimes the mental challenges go unnoticed and never get addressed. Just like the physical stress, the mental fatigue and frustration can obstruct ones progress and must be remedied. Set realistic short term and long term goals. Have patience when things dont immediately click. Respect the grind, knowing that youll appreciate the development of your skillset that much more. If youre honest about how you should perform and how you actually perform, then adjustments to specific elements of your training approach are easily achieved. Remember quotes like The more I learn, the more I know that i dont know so that you dont feel so frustrated on days that you feel like a white belt again. Ego is fine, humility is better. There is no substitute for mat time. Youre either on the mat, or youre not. The voice inside that beckons for you to lay down and quit is no louder than the voice that pushes us forward. We decide which one sounds better, and then live with the consequences. BJ Penn tells it like it is: youtu.be/LZ76VkRe-gA
