Jo has been doing the important work of going through the eighteen - TopicsExpress

Jo has been doing the important work of going through the eighteen THOUSAND photos that are stored on our computer and deleting those that aren’t worth keeping. With digital cameras, we take 4 or 5 shots in order to get the best one, but then we’re left with a stacks of blurry photos using up our hard drive. It got to the point where those blurry ones had to go... all seven thousand of them! So now I’m writing this on a much cleaner hard drive. That’s a positive result. But probably a more positive result is the opportunity I’ve had to look over her shoulder and remind myself of beautiful memories we’ve made as a family. It’s when you look back over some of your best memories that you’re struck by how beautiful life can be. You’re reminded that truly amazing moments can be enjoyed. You’re reminded that maybe there’s something more to life than the usual and ordinary. That challenges me to make more memories today. As a husband and a father, I’ve got the opportunity to create incredible memories each day in the lives of those in my family. To what extent will they look back over the next weeks and months with joy? I know I’ve mentioned this verse before, but it’s worth thinking on. Moses prayed in Psalm 90, “teach us to number our days, that we may get a heart of wisdom.” When we see our lives as an accountant sees dollars, when we actually number our days, something changes. We become driven to a value-for-money that inspires action. What can you do this week to create memories in your own life, or in those closest to you? Be bold. Step out of the box. And do something amazing for Jesus and for those you love.
