Joe Abeyta For to long now our people have been oppressed tortured robbed lied to and forgotten our ancestors blood was spread from one end of this land to the other our ancestors were raped kidnapped and forced into slavery our way of life destroyed and looted for every resource that could be taken by force was and still is the graves of our ansestors looted for every sacred artifact so it could. Be taken hung like a trophy on some rich mans wall when the government came to our people you had a choice to stay put on a reservation or face death our buffalo were slaughtered by the hundreds of thousands railroad tracks were given the right a way to scar the sacred land most of our stream were polluted with poison and to this day still are being every resource that could be taken and profits made from are being sold and destroyed and after mined are left a toxic site that will never be available for any one in the future at what point do our peoples step up and fight to save what is left of our mother earth the question is you my Indian people when will you step up and say we have been the watchers and intrusted to watch and care for this land we must have a grate meeting with all indigenous people to restore Indian law all across this grate land its time to restore Indian way of life with morals and ancient traditions we all see grate trouble and a dead end if we just sit by doing nothing about it...i wanted to share these great words borrowed from a staus i just read
