Joe Alejandrino: This is the state of the nation: confusion and chaos. One only needs to look at the traffic situation to realize what a mess we are in. It is a mirror of our government whose president has lost his credibility, whose vice-president is facing corruption charges, whose Congress is perceived as a syndicate of criminals. Not only do we have an absence of government, we have an absence of opposition simply because they are all embedded in the same corruption, the product of a rotten political system whose checks and balances have disappeared, a system where nobody observes the Constitution, a system where the rule of law has made way for the rule of men, a system the present political dispensation prefers to retain because it suits their private interests, a system which provides no alternative but the politics of despair. Beneath all this are rumblings of dissent which will ultimately find their echo to finish the unfinished revolution. Their battle song BayanKo.
