Joel Osteen on 30 NOV 13: He says No correction needed. What does Gods Word say? Heres Joel Osteen Ministries post from 30 NOV 2013 You don’t have to tell people what they’re doing wrong. They already know. Your job is to love them. This flashed across Facebook on 30 NOV 13. I checked to see if this was an actual post from Joel Osteen Ministries - and it is - with well over 200K likes already! The question to Joel Osteens post is: What about Prov 9:7-8; Prov 13:1,8; Prov 24:24-25? The point of interest in this post is They already know. If a person was given the correct directions to a destination, did they know they were going in the wrong direction? Would you feel loved if someone knew you were going the wrong direction but decided I dont need to tell them, theyre alright. Just love them..? What if one is in position to give good advice to someone who is following bad advice but decides I dont need to tell them, theyre alright. Just love them...? Gods Word says in Prov 27:6 ...but the kisses of an enemy are deceitful. Peter thought he was speaking in defense of Jesus when He said in Matt 16:22 ..Be it far from thee, Lord: this shall not be unto thee. Peter was actually an enemy to Gods will Jesus spoke about in Matt 16:21 when he said that. Jesus said to Peter in Matt 16:23 ...Get thee behind me, Satan: thou art an offence unto me: for thou savourest not the things that be of God, but those that be of men. That was our Savior correcting Peter! Prov 27:5-6 states (5) Open rebuke is better than secret love. (6)Faithful are the wounds of a friend;... Did Peter knew he would be called out? No. Did it hurt Peter being called Satan? Yes. If Peter knew hed deny Jesus three times (Matt 26:69-75), would he make the statement in Matt 26:35 ...Though I should die with thee, yet will I not deny thee...? If Peter did, why did he wept bitterly (Matt 26:69-75)? But what if Jesus decided not correct Peter and follow his suggestion? Wed have NO Savior! What a Friend we have in Jesus! This is one example of the dangers of not using Gods Word to speak of God. Gods Word says it is the act of an enemy to not correct (Prov 27:5-6).
