Joey is up 1.5 more lbs. Total 52.5 lbs. I was hoping it was more but I guess a steady increase is what we want. At the vets this morning he was so funny. He met this man and a boxer and he rushed over to them and got in between them and didnt want to leave. He found a best friend and a daddy. I get some real mean looks when Im in public with Joey. I think people associate me with his condition. I love seeing him weave in between people and on the leash because each time I see how much better he is doing than last time. Strangers that see him dont know how far he has come they just see his awkward movements up front and Im sure it can be disconcerting. He actually moved towards a man in an effort to get his head pet. It was very subtle and many would not notice it but I saw it and it was very big in my eyes. I have noticed as well that anything that resembles a rope like the leash, my computer cords, or electric cords terrify Joey. This is a new realization and it begs me to wonder what in his past got him to that point. At night on the bed I cover the computer cords with a blanket and it makes him feel better. Otherwise he visibly shows discomfort when he sees them. :( So many discoveries and he is doing so well. One day at a time, each day a new beginning!
