Joey was a Paws 4 Hope rescue dog that was placed at the Hawkins - TopicsExpress

Joey was a Paws 4 Hope rescue dog that was placed at the Hawkins Womens Unit, one of the Paws in Prison training facilities. He was just a small puppy, fearful and protective. All of the women fell in love with him and got approval for him to stay at the unit. He lived there for 2 years. Joey was taught all of the service dog commands, over 100, and then some. Recently the women decided it was time for Joey to find a forever home and he was placed up for adoption. The women reviewed the applications and voted on their choice. The lady they selected had a little rat terrier, Dakota, that she loved for 12 years. He has been gone 2 years now. Someone sent her a picture of Joey and she instantly fell in love. She and Joey met yesterday and its a perfect match. She is disabled with a back injury. Joey, because of his service training by the wonderful inmate trainers at Hawkins, retrieves items for her that she finds difficult to pick up. He brings her his leash when hes ready to go outside. She is just learning all of the wonderful things he can do for her. In turn, she loves and adores him, just what he was looking for. I told you it was a perfect match!!
