John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; - TopicsExpress

John 10:10 “The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full.” Over a week ago, I let Satan creep in, pry on my fears, and kill my joy. After giving it back to God, He has restored my joyful peace in Claire’s current status. Amen to enjoying the moment in which He has given. Claire has had a very nice week. She cannot tell me but I am sure she has enjoyed the break from chemo and neupogen shots. Her demeanor has been lively, vibrant, and playful. Claire’s appetite has been steady with perhaps a slight increase in the last two days. The Lord has blessed her with enough hunger and taste for food to maintain her weight as we approach this next treatment. My daughter is officially bald now, but she sports it with pride. It just allows me more areas to give her sweet kisses. God has protected her preventing any fever, sickness, or infection from plaguing her body which allowed us continual recovery at home. We are thankful for the time we’ve had in the comfort and safety of our home, especially this last week with Jordan on Spring Break. I take Claire to our local pediatrician on Monday for bloodwork to see if she is ready to begin the next intense round on Tuesday. If her counts are right, we will pack and head to Duke on Tuesday. Her next admission will be about two weeks long. She will receive HD ARA-c and a peg shot. They will keep her while her counts drop and through recovery because there are a few side effects that need to be monitored closely days after chemo is given. Once again, I am so thankful Jordan will be with us through out that time. GOD’S NOT DEAD!! (He is surely alive, living on the inside, roaring like a lion) Tonight while Jordan watched Claire I went to see “God’s Not Dead” with some of my church family. It was a great movie that I recommend making time to see it. Mark 12:27 He is not the God of the dead, but of the living” therefore God is alive within us. If you love the Lord, give your life to Him, and want to follow Jesus than Christ in some ways can be compared to cancer. Similar in the fact that each of these is a part of every facet of your life, everyday, at everytime. Claire has leukemia all day, every day. We should be Christ like all day, every day. Cancer cannot be confined to a day, neither should our worship of Christ. Cancer places limitations on who she can spend time with, where she goes, and the activities that she can engage in because irresponsible actions can be detrimental to her health. The same is true for the Christian walk. We must be in the world, but not of the world. Influence others, but not be swayed ourselves. Our health is not on the line, but our soul. Engaging the sinner to save his soul, but not engaging in the sin possibly losing yours is a balance to find. God commands us to Mark 16:15 “Go into all the world and proclaim the gospel to the whole creation.” but warns us 1 Cor 15:33 “Do not be deceived: “Bad company ruins good morals.” We cannot serve God if we only give Him one day of the week. God cannot show himself to others through us if we do not let him into our personal life, social life, work life; our whole life because God is not a hobby that can be compartmentalized. If God resides inside us we cannot separate any portion of ourselves from Him or hide from Him. Therefore, it is a 100% commitment or none at all. Rev 3:16 “So because you are lukewarm, and neither hot nor cold, I will spit you out of My mouth.“ Claire cannot be separated from cancer until the Lord chooses to heal her body from it, now or in eternity. However, we can chose whether or not to be separate from God now leading into eternity. Matt 10:32-33 ““Whoever acknowledges me before others, I will also acknowledge before my Father in heaven. But whoever disowns me before others, I will disown before my Father in heaven.” Cancer infiltrates every part of life without permission, but Christ will not do that. He gave us free will; therefore, we must proclaim Him as our Lord and Savior and invite Him into your heart. Tonight I chose to acknowledge Him and follow Him for tomorrow may be the beginning of eternity.
