John 8:52 Then said the Jews unto him, Now we know that thou hast a devil. Abraham is dead, and the prophets; and thou sayest, If a man keep my saying, he shall never taste of death. 53 Art thou greater than our father Abraham, which is dead? and the prophets are dead: whom makest thou thyself? 54 Jesus answered, If I honour myself, my honour is nothing: it is my Father that honoureth me; of whom ye say, that he is your God: 55 Yet ye have not known him; but I know him: and if I should say, I know him not, I shall be a liar like unto you: but I know him, and keep his saying. 56 Your father Abraham rejoiced to see my day: and he saw it, and was glad. (KJV) 1. Here the Jews accused Jesus of being a mental case because that He had said that the person that keeps His commandments shall never die. Of course He was speaking of Eternal Life in the Spiritual Realm. 2. The Jews, some of which were beginning to sound like Sadducees who did not believe in life after death or the resurrection, thought that because Abraham and some of the Prophets were dead they would never live again. There are folks in the world today that are in the same condition simply because they refuse to believe! 3. Jesus told the Jews that they did not know the Father, and rightfully so, because if they had known the Father they would have known Him as well. Scripture says that I and my Father are One. Even Abraham had rejoiced to see Jesus In that day. Soon, and very soon, we shall see Him as He is! Have A Blessed Saturday!
