John Kalen Lenkulate (JKL), the SAMBURULEAKS CEO is still on the run in foreign country because of the “personal” threats he received after releasing the famous IPREST document. Although has in short order become one of the most polarizing figures in SEDF and still up to his call, he is reviled by most county leaders yet regarded as a hero by many SEDFIANS who see him as striking a blow at Samburu county government and other entrenched powers by revealing their activities to the light of day. Teddy Rosevelt once said “Behind the ostensible government sits enthroned an invisible government owing no allegiance and acknowledging no responsibility to the people. To destroy this invisible government, to befoul this unholy alliance between corrupt business and corrupt politics, is the first task of statesmanship.” The electorate must then be up to this task, the task that the leaders we elected are not ready to allow us perform, a task that makes John Lenkulate carry the cross of all of us from Samburu county. This is not justified. In this age and era, in the 21st century, decency and freedom should not be a topic of discussion for the Homo sapien sapien. Yet at this time, JKL is up and running, running for his life, He is in a state of exile in a foreign land unknown to him leaving his family and businesses behind. This is much a punishment for an ordinary Samburu mwananchi, This directly affects the lives of his dependents (children and family) who must be in a traumatic and a hard moment in this period of his absence. Hunting him down would not change the price of beans, in fact they have already been spilt. JKL has just revealed that Samburu county government is political wastelands and that is why any classified information, though thought to be held in top secrecy, can find its way to the lad herding donkeys in Naupa Nkurruki, this means that the county government must shamefully lick its dirty wound, deliberately inflicted by itself and mend the leaks within its system first before intimidating the poor mwananchi for seeing the leak, for knowing the truth. We would then plead to the county government, and all its leaders to allow JOHN LENKULATE come back home and attend to his family without any more fears of arrests or personal threats.
