John Mckenzies Race report from THAT ill fated day at Lakeside National titles. we discovered our pit bay was actually an unsealed storm water channel with a roof over it and we watched the water rise to about 20cm as various expensive motorcycle gear and spares floated downstream. The weather was fine for Fridays qualifying sessions but our pit bay was unusable so we had to get the bikes up the hill onto the main pit pavement in front of our bay. Steve still held the lead as he rounded the final turn to complete lap 2 as a P5 bike made an inside pass and low sided taking Steve down with him and both bikes slid into the barriers at very high speed, ...
