Johnshaven Athletic 3-2 Newtonhill Ten men Johnshaven held out for a good three points despite having a numerical disadvantage for half an hour. Mennie was on hand to take advantage of a keeper fumble to put the home team 1-0 up. A whipped in ball by Dalgarno was flicked on by Mennie to Cammy Spink for his fourth goal in three games. Newtonhill got a goal back, but johnner regained their cushion after Daz Cruickshank showed terrific feet and composure to score the goal of the game. Johnshaven were reduced to ten men for a foul on the edge of the box, and it was a double blow as the set piece was converted. It might be a new look team at the Wairds this season but the famous Johnshaven grit and determination was evident throughout as the boys battled hard to hold on to all three points.
