Join us in celebrating the the 50th ANNIVERSARY OF Polk State College in honor of contributions made to the quality of our students and community. Polk State College, formerly named Polk Junior College and Polk Community College, was founded in 1964. It was the first public higher education institution in Polk County and is one of 28 public colleges in the Florida College System. The college changed its name to Polk State College in 2009 to reflect its transition to four-year, baccalaureate status and offers four-year degrees such as Bachelor of Applied Science in Supervision and Management, Bachelor of Science in Nursing and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice.
