Jon Sanderson Rant - Print Is Dead If you are able to read this one, please do like it. It is quite clever, and funny. The abbreviation part took half an hour, because I found myself getting stupider as I wrote it. Enjoy. A friend of mine said, You cant expect people to read what you write. People have to see things to understand it. You will just confuse them, and all they will do is look at it, and go huh? I could write like bloody Shakespeare, and no one would appreciate it. I have read several articles discussing how texting has limited our ability to read. Most people only take the time to read something the length of a text. Some people only read the first portion of articles, and stories. They like them without actually understanding what they just read. Liking posts about dead relatives, horrific accidents, and criminals, with a pretty face. Or they dont like them because they didnt take the time to completely read it. Like this article. We live in a digital world. Print is dead. Some people cant even write a proper resume, They use texting abbreviations, on what is supposed to be a professional document. If you spend enough time at your local Starbucks you will encounter people talking in abbreviations. U8? Just drinks then... Amanda said a3. We should like totally go to Molly Blooms. Btdt. K Cobras then 2nite, around 11? j2lyk David might be there. Hes bf material. Csl. Cwyl. Dnbl8. GTG. K. H&K. Hagd. The worst part is when their mothers talk like this, while dressed like 16 year old girls, in their Juicy pants, with a letter missing. But that is a different topic. I swear that society is gradually becoming stupider. When the Graham Hancock of the future digs us up, and studies us, I fear that he will find one of these Juicy wearing skeletons, clutching an IPhone 80, read the text, and conclude that we evolved backwards, dependent on technology, to survive, and communicate, in a world gone dumb.
