Jorge Andrés Arce - Art Hello, my question is what things are important to consider when going to the chosen location? to consider when going to determine (choose a) place, for example, is not the same to go to Alaska to come to Costa Rica. You do some kind of protocol for anything you miss once installed, especially when it is somewhere very inaccessible? Jorge - I have been traveling the world for many years now taking photos, in the early days I was after many of the iconic and endangered animals and that determined my destinations. Being old I was one of the first photographers to work with the polar bears in the arctic and king penguins in the antarctic. I have a large library of books from photographers and artists around the world full of inspiration for destinations. In some I can see where the photographer has really done an amazing job getting the most out of a location, with that I probably wont put it on my list... In other books I can see where they have only begun to scratch the surface and there is much more exploration and opportunity yet uncovered and thats where Ill head first. I previsualize a lot of shots before I arrive, so I know what I want to try and come home with but I also leave myself open to serendipity and spontaneous opportunities. At the end of the day these are often the most satisfying. In the accompanying shot I had no idea this festival was going on in Morocco - we heard the commotion in the distance and stumbled upon a great photo op.
