Jose Antonio Vargas spent yesterday detained by Border Patrol in McAllen, TX. We are glad that he has been released, and join him and the growing chorus of voices calling for change and #immigrationreformnow. His story, those of the thousands of children he was there to visit who need humanitarian relief, and the countless stories of immigrants who live in fear and in the shadows on a daily basis are evidence for the urgent need to fix the broken immigration system. We call on the President to act immediately on his stated intent to step into the breach created by ongoing inaction by the House of Representatives and enact policies to provide relief for immigrants and their families.
