Joshi bats for professional development in health care services 665, Teaching staff to be recruited soon PUNJAB/Chandigarh, October 24: Anil Joshi, Medical Education and Research Minister, Punjab today asked the experts to work for the professional development in the health care sector. Joshi in a press communiqué said that the state government has been trying to start new diploma courses in the educational institutions which would open up new avenues for the students to get employment. He said that besides job opportunity for the students, the state government is committed to provide quality health services to the citizen. He said that the government has given its nod to create 665 new posts of Junior/Senior Residents, Professor, Associate Professors in Government Medical College Amritsar and Patiala. He said the process of recruitment would soon be started. These posts would be filled strictly adhering to the rules of Medical Council of India (IMI) issued from time to time. Joshi further said that he has already issued instructions to build super specialty wings in Government Medical College of Patiala and Amritsar besides upgrade the basic infrastructure in these institutions.
