Joshua 1:2 “Moses My servant is dead. Now therefore, arise, go over this Jordan, you and all this people, to the land which I am giving to them—the children of Israel. Joshua walked with Moses, Joshua was taugh by Moses. Everything Joshua needed to lead the people had already been instilled into His heart and mind. Joshua knew prayer by Moses example. Joshua had been with Moses when Moses had been with God. Joshua had faith in God, that God would provide and keep His word. That word was of a promised land. Like the word from Jesus about what is to come after we die, the promise of a heavenly home, and a heavenly body. Joshua went from being a helper to being a leader. God had prepared Joshua for this day. God never wastes anything, even in our rebellion God will redeem. Gods plans are for all of humanity, God lead through Joshua the whole of the people, the new generation of Israel into what had been promised so long ago. Sometimes I think " Jesus we have been waiting so long for your return" the people of Joshuas day had been waiting also. They taught their children all the words of The Lord as they wondered and waited day and night. Sometimes in our life it feels like we are just waiting and wondering, is this all there is. The heart of God wants no one to parish, the heart of God waits, the heart of God watches. God is never to late and never to early. There is so much waiting to be done. But in the waiting growing is happening. The seed of faith was planted into each heart, and growing starts. Babies in the womb need time to grow so we wait. Seeds planted into our gardens need time to grow so we wait. High school graduation, college graduation all grow in us but we have to wait. We are all waiting for something. We can try to make the growing faster but that only frustrates, growing the heart of God in us takes time. But in all our waiting God is doing a great work in us. Preparing us for our promised land. Heaven. Philippians 4:11 Not that I speak in regard to need, for I have learned in whatever state I am, to be content: Just like Joshua, God was preparing Him, growing him to become a great leader in the army of God with the great privilege of leading his people into all the fullness of God. Wait, listen, be content where you are, and walk towards God. The best is yet to come. 2 Thessalonians 3:13 But as for you, brethren, do not grow weary in doing good. Be patient God is growing in you greatness. Love to you all
