Josiah was eight years old when he became king , and he reigned thirty and one years in Jerusalem 2 Chronicles 34 : 1. The word of God says that whoever believes in Christ is made king and priest . If we are kings , then the question is not to fight for the future but rather how to exercise our reign . To help us examine four principles from four stages of the life of King Josiah. 1 . To leave teaching : When was Josiah was made king , he began to walk in the ways of his father David , without turning to the left or right. In the eighth year of his reign , he began to seek the God of his father (2 Chronicles 34 : 2-3 ) . 2 . Get rid of any negative bravely past At the twelfth year he began to purge Judah and Jerusalem from the high places , and the groves , and the carved images, and the molten images ... (2 Chronicles 34 : 3-7 ) . 3 . Honor God , repent quickly : In the eighteenth year of his reign, he repaired the house of the LORD his God. When he found the book of the law , he tore his clothes and wept before God after reading (2 Chronicles 34 : 8-19 ) . 4 . Commit to obey God no matter what it costs us : Having found that did not work in perfect ways of God, according to the book of the law, Josiah decided to put into practice all that he has seen in the book. (25 2 Kings 23 ) . To apply these principles , Josiah got success because Scripture says he reigned thirty-one years (2 Kings 22 : 1 ) Amon unlike his predecessor , who reigned only two years (2 Chronicles 33 : 21). A prayer for today: Thank you Lord for the revelation that you give me . I decided to follow these principles by drawing on your Holy Spirit in me , because without your power , I can not . Help me today in my decision.
