Journey Forward Thoughts for 30 October 2013 I was listening - TopicsExpress

Journey Forward Thoughts for 30 October 2013 I was listening to a song that talked about Glory, Honor, and Power belongs to you Lord, and as I was giving an amen to this worship, I realized the impact of glory, honor, and power. Revelation 4:9-11 says, Whenever the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to him who sits on the throne and who lives for ever and ever, the twenty-four elders fall down before him who sits on the throne, and worship him who lives for ever and ever. They lay their crowns before the throne and say: You are worthy, our Lord and God, to receive glory and honor and power, for you created all things, and by your will they were created and have their being. But what does it mean to worship by admitting that all glory, honor, and power, belongs to our Lord? Glory is worshipping another over yourself. Often today people give glory to their own invention. They want to receive glory of men over what they have become, or the position they hold. Because pride has so overwhelmed the land, people seek glory. They also seek honor which is a testament to the life lived. It puts another before self, yet the world constantly tells us to grab everything you can for yourself, for you alone should be honored. You are honored when you do something brave; you are honored when you make a sacrifice, and even us believers can get to where we like honor, when others honor our generosity. Power of course speaks for itself. Power is something our land fights for. Because if you have the power, you have the respect, or so they say. But power also can become self-serving when it is used as a goal of self-fulfillment. These three things need to be given to whom they belong. They belong to God, and God alone. He is worthy of all glory, but can we give him all glory when we seek some for ourselves? I dont think so. Pride wants us to seek glory, but when we humble ourselves realizing that all we are, and all we have, belong to the Lord. We desire to give him glory. We also place him above all else in giving him honor, honor that tells us so often to seek after for self, needs to be placed on the one more deserving of honor. Scripture tells us that we cannot serve two masters. If we serve another with honor, we are placing that honor above God, and serving that which we honor. Power is better left in the One who holds the keys to heaven and earth. We would be so much better off, if we realized that whatever power we might have comes from the Lord, so who really has the power, us or He, who lives in us. Lets worship him today, and pay him the proper respect He deserves. All glory, honor, and power, are unto you, O Lord, for you alone are worthy. Father, I worship you today and recognize that ALL glory, honor, and power are yours. I submit to your authority, I submit my will to yours Lord. I humble myself in the knowledge that you have all power, and I am but a broken vessel, but one that you chose to live in. I will honor you with the acknowledgement that you alone are worthy of my praise. I recognize that you Lord, are the healer, and I will bow before you today, and ask for healing for those I love, that you Lord, would be glorified by their healing, and I recognize that while you have all power to just say the word, you will be glorified in our lives regardless of healing, for we will place ourselves in worship, for who you are, not what you do for us. Lord, with that, I still ask for healing for: Donna, Ann, Heather, Steve, Kevin, Lincoln, Joyce. I pray for your touch on: Rheba, Betty, Montella, Harriet, Peggy, Drew, Joann. I pray for your heart to hear and touch: Dan, Kristen, Kristena, Steve, Jesse, David, Beth, John, Jason, Ruth, Diane, Gus, Lisa, Jacob, Camryn, Stacy. Lord I pray for strength for Tracy, Abraham, Bishop Japeth, Ann, Mike and Megan, John and Patty, Willie and Karina. Lord, help us to keep our focus heavenward, that we honor you alone, in Jesus name. Amen! Pastor Andy
