Ju-Ju and her 18 gold team after going undefeated this last weekend. Im very proud of you Julia, you have always been a strong amazing young lady and im grateful that you went for what you wanted and proved yourself a leader, I dont think anyone would have guessed you were the only 14 year old on that team and still one of the loudest in the dugout and on the dirt, it reminded me of that little 8 year old girl who you could hear pumping her team up from the parking lot a mile away. The little girl who when she got cut up diving or sliding and her coach dad would say rub some dirt on it and get back in there JuJu, and thats just exactly what you did. It is hard for me to type this without shedding tears for many reasons from the loss of a great friend, one of the best men I have ever known in my life, whom without, that little blonde haired super bright blue eyed 7 year old rec ball player with a helmet 4 times her size who was just as awnry and filled with that unique louder than average Love and voice as he had, would have never took a huge leap at such a young age and tried out for a travel team all those years ago (Rick we love you and miss you every day my friend). To an amazing new Friend who became Julias road mommy driving her cross country recently for the better part of four weeks straight and numerous states playing ball at every stop making her feel like family when we couldnt be with her. So many memories and great people we have shared our similar lives with. My how fast time flies and you kids grow up. Yet as i sit here with a lump in my throat and tears in my eyes I can still hear that little girl screaming from the dugout like it was yesterday. Im proud of you Julia, and Im proud to be your dad. I love you. Now go rub some dirt on it and get out there.
