Juan Mata, United’s Fourth Spaniard. Ricardo and Piqué played in Old Trafford, but now Mata will share team with De Gea Juan Mata will have the honor to be the fourth Spanish player of Manchester United, the most awarded club in England and one of the best in the world. The midfielder, at his 25 years old, will follow the steps of Ricardo, Gerard Piqué and David de Gea, with whom he’ll be sharing dressing room. Goalkeeper Ricardo was the first Spaniard to dress the ‘Red Devils’ shirt after being signed from Real Valladolid in 2002 to compete for a place in the goal with Barthez, Carroll and Howard. A couple of years later, on the summer of 2004, a very young Gerard Piqué followed Ricardo’s steps and with only 17 years old became a part of the team thanks to Sir Alex Ferguson. Also thanks to Ferguson’s decision, the coach with the most titles won for Man U, Goalkeeper David de Gea changed Atlético de Madrid for United. Since 2011/12 season, De Gea has been Red Devils’ goal keeper. Now after leaving behind his successful period at Chelsea and after becoming one of the most valued players of the whole Premier League and of the World, it is Juan Mata who enters ‘United’s Spanish club’. Mata has the aim and challenge of exploiting all his quality and talent at the legendary Old Trafford, facts that have made him become a new player of this remarkable club. He won’t disappoint anyone.
