Juan Williams, a FOX news analyst, stated last Saturday that the “Benghazi issue is a non issue.” Hillary Clinton in a Congressional hearing stated “what does it matter.” President Obama indicates it is a “phony scandal.” Today marks the one year anniversary of the terrorists attack on the consulate in Benghazi where four Americans, to include the American Ambassador to Libya, was killed. The events leading up to the attack reveal that our State Department denied request from the Ambassador and the Resident Security Officer to provide additional security even though intelligence and previous actions occurred to alert the State Department that Benghazi was a dangerous location. When the attack started, Leon Panetta called President Obama at 5pm EST to alert him of the attack. Mr. Panetta testified he did not have another conversation with the President for 11 1/2 hours. Mr. Hicks, a State Department employee called Hillary Clinton at 2am Benghazi time to advise her of the attack. He has testified that he could not reach her again until the next day even though he attempted to call her two times during the attack. General Ham in Tripoli attempted to send troops to Benghazi but was ordered to stand down. When he decided to send them anyway, he was relieved of his command. That no military was dispatched to assist in saving our fellow Americans means that someone had to give the order. Then Susan Rice, the Ambassador to the United Nations, was sent out in the midst of a Presidential campaign to provide a deceptive explanation about the attack, blaming the attack on a demonstration on some third rate video made by an American in Southern California about Islam. The President of the United States also parroted the same story, and unfortunately the liberal press and some Americans bought the story line. Then it took the F.B.I. three weeks to initiate an investigation at the Consulate compound. The physical evidence had long been contaminated or stolen, or disappeared by the time they arrived. So, we have the State Department led by Hillary Clinton, denying additional security to the Ambassador to Libya. We have the President and the Head of the State Department absent while the Consulate is being attacked. We have no military response to save those Americans who are under attack and being killed. Worst of all we have the CIA providing instant information that the attack is orchestrated by an affiliate of Al Qaeda, only to be washed by the White House to provide a silly scenario that Obama needed to sell to get re-elected. That no terrorists have been arrested or killed by drones does not surprise me. This administration does not want the truth to ever be revealed. The truth is the Department of State was incompetent and derelict in their duty to provide adequate security for the Americans stationed at the Consulate. The truth is that the President of the United States was not at the situation room making decisions to save American lives on the night of the attack. The truth is that someone made the decision to postpone the F.B.I. Investigation until evidence had been tainted in order to protect this administration. The truth is that the White House, to include this President, engaged in a massive cover up regarding the attack to get re-elected. The truth is that the media and Obama’s minions went along with the charade. In February 2013 I attended a ceremony for Ty Woods and Glen Dougherty, the two former Navy Seals that were under contract with the CIA, and were killed in Benghazi, at the Gettysburg Lodge in Gettysburg, Pennsylvania. Those of us present for the ceremony took an oath to continue our fight to get the truth on Benghazi revealed. Why, because Madam Hillary, it is important and it does matter when Americans lose their lives over incompetence, and lack of fortitude. It matters when Americans lose their lives and the President has the audacity to lie to the American people over the circumstances.
