Julie update: Julie went to see the surgein today. (A neighbor drove her, as I was at work.) They arent happy that she cant straighten her leg yet. But, it has nothing to do with what she is or isnt doing. It has to do with the tendons wanting to go back to where they were before surgery, which was very much out of alignment (21* offset.). So, they have fitted her with a brace called the rack. Yup. Just what it sounds like! Goes on the leg, tighten the screws, let it sit for a bit, tighten the screws a bit more, let it sit, etc. Three times a day to straighten the knee. Updated meds as well. Aleve instead of Tylenol, and Flexeril, which is actually a muscle relaxant. She can still take the tramadol if she wants. Shes not allowed to drive for an as yet undetermined amount of time, but may be able to go back to work in 2-4 weeks. Shes got her prescription for her temporary handicap plaque So, here we are! She does feel better at least knowing something, as opposed to always wondering why this knee isnt going as smoothly as the other.
