July 12, 2014 - Today I am grateful for experiencing such an amazing day. Last night I had plans to meet someone, but I had to push that out to tonight due to last nights concert not being today. Lizzie VanValkenburg had invited me to head out of town with her. The first place I thought of was Bell Rock in Sedona, Arizona (the most beautiful place in the world). Below is a shot of Courthouse Butte from halfway up Bell Rock. I really needed the long drive, good workout, great views, amazing photographs taken, and great conversations. However, I had to make sure I was back to follow-up with my plans originally from last night that were postponed to tonight. I finally got a chance to meet Natalie Olsen Brokaw tonight. Since were both photographers and both LDS, we decided to go to the Mesa Arizona Temple to take advantage of the wild lighting / weather. Of course no visit would be complete without saying hi to many of the amazing Sister missionaries at the Mesa Arizona Temple Visitors Center. Although there was no long drive or good workout, there were great views, amazing photographs taken, and great conversations with both Natalie and the Sister missionaries. Below is an untouched, stunningly beautiful photo of the Temple just after sunset. Natalie and I wrapped things up with a very late dinner. Since she had never had Chicago food, I had to introduce her to Portillos in Tempe. Recently I have gone through some rough times. I am so grateful that I take the time to document these amazing experiences. Starting with the Avenged Sevenfold concert last night, this amazing weekend is proof that we need to keep pushing forward when were down; there are ALWAYS amazing things ahead!
