July 19, 2014: UPDATE OPERATION ZARB-E-AZB 19 July 2014 1) Terrorists are being eliminated and dislodged from their bases in North Waziristan as the operation progresses as per plan. 2) After Miranshah, two important villages of Boya and Degan, which were known to be large concentration centers of local and foreign terrorists, have been cleared. Consolidation of Boya and Degan is in progress. 3) At Mirali, house to house search in Mussaki, Hurmez and Mirali bazar is being carried out by integrated group of forces. Terrorists holed up inside Mir Ali and surrounding areas have been firing Rockets, mortars, heavy machine guns and Sniper rifles. During exchange of fire 4 x terrorists were killed in Mirali last night. 12 IEDs were neutralized last night alone, while an IED making factory, huge cache of arms and ammunition and foreign currency were also recovered. Meanwhile strangulation and targeting of terrorists and their hideouts in other areas in North Waziristan Agency is continuing. 4) Today (Saturday) Corps Commander, Lieutenant General Khalid Rabbani visited Mirali, Boya and Degan areas of North Waziristan Agency (NWA) and met with the troops busy in Operation Zarb e Azb. 5) Relief Work: Distribution of relief items for IDPs continues at Bannu, DI Khan and Tank. 133002 x ration packs have been distributed so far. 6) 1639 Tons of Ration have been collected so far at 59 x Relief donations points established by Pakistan Army all over the country and transported to Bannu. 7) 29101 x Patients have been treated at the Field Medical Hospital established at Khalifa Gul Nawaz hospital Bannu by Army. 8) 16060 x cattle have been provided veterinary treatment while 40278 cattle and 566393 x poultry have been vaccinated.
