July 27, 2014 Been really busy training and just hanging around here at the house. Just love my days and nights with mommy. Went and got my injection last week and even got my first pedicure. They cut my toenails and I did not like that but mommy was right by my side and got me through it. Oh I have discovered ice cubes and love em. The other day mommy was getting some ice out of door of the place where they keep all of the good stuff to eat. Something fell on the floor and of course I was there in a flash to get it. It was a slippery little thing I did not think I was ever going to stop it from sliding. Mommy said I looked like I was hitting around a hockey puck, what ever that is. Finally got it and ate it, it was so cold and good. Now every time mommy uses the ice maker thing she will slide one of them cubes across the tile floor and off I go and just slide all over the place to get it. It is so much fun except when the ice gets underneath the edge of the bottom of the cabinet, I then have to use my paw to swipe it out and then it goes sliding across the floor again and then I pounce on it. Saturday was training at Petsmart, I am doing intermediate stuff. We are working on heel and stay with mommy walking away to about 20 feet away. We have been going to Lowes just about every night except Sunday that is our rest day. I have been meeting so many people who want to pet me and talk to me. And I love meeting kids they are just so excited to see me and I get excited too, which I am not suppose to so I have to work on that. Mommy bought us some new toys and a toy box at Petsmart. She is so nice and she told us she ordered us some more antler chews, too. Jake got me in trouble again. We have been chasing those birds that run on the ground, I think mommy called them killdeer. I guess they kill deer who knows stupid name if you ask me. Mommy has never gotten on to us for chasing them because she knows we never can catch them. Well the other day we were chasing them, Jake stopped at something, I just kept running by him chasing the little two legged critter, boy they are fast for just having two legs. Jake hollered at me and said look what I found. He was sniffing at some little round spotted looking balls. Oh boy a snack he said come on lets eat them. I did not ask what they were just grabbed one because he knows every thing. Well about that time mommy saw us and I heard those three words, well really six this time, Miracle Dawn Russell and Jake Ryan Russell. The good ol boy Jake as he is just stops and walks away without anything in his mouth but oh not me I was busted. As usual clueless little me because I think Mr Jake set me up, I learned they were eggs of that bird we were chasing. It was too late I bit into it, to be honest it was yukky all slimy and runny so I dropped it. There were still two eggs left so mommy made us get away from them. Now when we go out she does not let us into the big yard unless she goes with us so she can guard the eggs. Of course I usually head that way but I never get close I just want to see them. Mommy just loves all kind of animals, she put sticks up around the eggs to mark them and when she mowed yesterday she mowed around the sticks, she did not get close to them. So I guess we might have some baby rescue birds who knows. She is such a nurturer and I love her. The other night I found out what a locust is. It was on the patio so I grabbed it with my mouth and it scared the bejezzers out of me. It stated buzzing in my mouth it did not take me long to shake my head and drop it. Tried to pick it up again thinking Ok that wont happen again, but same thing I dropped that thing and left it alone. The fluttering and buzzing in my mouth really felt weird. I never knew there were so many other creatures out there. Well it is feeding time and then lazy time before bed. Back to the start of another busy week of training for both me and mommy.
