July 27 GODLY WOMEN DO NOT HAVE TO BE UGLY Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised. Proverbs 31:30 SOME OF THE MOST BEAUTIFUL WOMEN I KNOW ARE ALSO GODLY WOMEN There was a joke that said, beauty is only skin deep but ugly goes all the way to the bone. Well, maybe it was not that funny. Anyway, whoever came up the idea that a Godly woman could not be beautiful. Somewhere many years ago, someone decided that women should not wear make-up, cut their hair, or wear jewelry. It did not come from instructions in scripture. A scripture that was taken out of context. Someone thought it sounded good and would save them lots of money, so they went for it. I am not saying that you have to wear make-up and jewelry to be beautiful, but even an old barn looks better with a coat of paint. I have noticed that men who claim to like their wives looking like unkempt beds are always going around looking at stylish, stunning and fashionable women. What is wrong with this picture? God has given us as women, a great package to work with. Let’s make it look as good as we can. BUT... while we are doing that let us never forget that our relationship with the Lord is what really makes us pleasing to God and those around us. No matter how beautiful a woman is if her mouth is constantly spewing gossip and slander, it takes away from her spiritual beauty and natural beauty. A woman is fifty percent what she looks like and fifty percent who she is on the inside; her hidden heart and her relationship with the Lord. And ladies, the most important person you want to impress with your looks is your husband. When he comes home from work, make him glad that he is married to you and not the beautiful woman on the movie screen. MEN, PRAISE YOUR WIFE... IT’S LIKE MAGIC
